Umm.. As far as I know the new Pepsi logo is to be launched soon, in 3 different versions: for Pepsi, Pepsi Light and Max.

Yes, tou're right. It is somewhat confusing, I agree. The new logo leaked to the web some time ago, so it was not officially "launched" . See http://blaahg.wordpress.com/2008/10/23/this-just-in-smiley-face-pepsi/
True, true, yet the scale of the rebranding is huge, in budget terms at least, and it will be acompanied by major marketing campaigns. Launch may not be the best word for it, but it is still unclear whether the change will be only about the logo or the brand as a whole (including values'n'stuff). Vide: the New Coke campaign in the 80s or 90s, when Coca Cola tried to freshen up its image a bit, by taking a sharp turn and introducing New Coke instead of the old. That sure didn't work out well.
Anyway, to quote the recent remake of Bud ad: change, that's what's up.
Change in the times of crisis to allude to Marquez...not sure whether it will pay off.
